Are There Ecig bans and Regulations?

Everyone knows the health effects of smoking and this message forms the basis of many crusades against cigarette smoking. However, there is a new type of cigarette that does not cause the adverse effects of the traditional one, though it is subject to Ecig bans and regulations by some nations while others are giving it thumbs up as an alternative. It uses a nicotine cartridge that produces nicotine vapor, which does not have the harmful chemicals found in the traditional cigarette. Therefore, despite the strict e-cig laws it might face, this product is useful in assisting smokers quit the habit.

In the US, the Food and Drug Administration body (FDA) is behind the rising need for ecig bans and regulations, claiming that this cigarette is not different from the traditional one and despite being termed as a cessation option it presents a starting option for underage smoking. Though they lost the case, the battle for electronic cigarette bans is still on with claims that this cigarette needs more research and testing before it can be approved as an alternative. That is why a bill was presented to the New York state assembly with aims to have the cigarette off the shelves as part of the Ecig bans and regulations, until it has been approved through professional assessment of its effects on the smoker and its composition.

This came after a wake of advertisements online from companies offering these products in a bid to entice more buyers. The Ecig bans and regulations is a way to control any effect that the cigarettes may have on the population, given that most countries have already set laws banning any type of smoking in public places. These calls for e-cigarette restrictions are concerns that the consumers' rights should not be infringed, though people who are already using this cigarette attest to its advantages. Various organizations advocating for the electronic cigarette as an alternative to the traditional one are championing for the rights of smokers so that the Ecig bans and regulations should not take away the best alternative they have. Some research work has guided several nations into accepting the use of this cigarette. For instance, in New Zealand, Dr Murray of the Health Department headed the research and the results showed that it did not contain levels of harmful substanc es. This was a great scientific boost that deterred any electric cigarette bans in that country.

Another conclusive research was in Boston University and the results of the experiment revealed that the cigarette did not contain the harmful substances present in the traditional cigarette. Since most of the countries cannot agree due to lack of sufficient proof for the Ecig bans and regulations, there are divided arguments for or against the cigarette with most of the countries allowing its use but prohibiting its advertising. For example, Netherlands allows its usage but limits advertising of the cigarette. In the United Kingdom, you can buy and use them without fear of e cig bans. Countries that are not within the European Union (EU) allow importation and use of this cigarette as long as the imports are from a country that is not in the EU.
